The implementation of Science Diplomacy activities involves a wide range of stakeholders, government departments, staff and strategies. The article by Lutz-Peter Berg zooms in and provides an overview over science diplomacy networks, their aims, methods and various definitions. The results are based on information collected in a survey in 2008 and aim to explain the nature of science and technology networks that were established to pursue international policy goals across twenty countries. The article discusses the types of staff countries employ to implement their Science Diplomacy objectives, touches upon the roles of science counsellors and discusses some of the aims pursued and approaches used. It thereby offers a valuable understanding of this branch of stakeholders.
