Jerneja Penca is a research fellow at the Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI), where she also acts as a head of academic affairs. In her role, she is in charge of strategic partnerships and programmes that further EMUNI’s mission of fostering an integrated Euro-Med higher-education and research space. Her scientific expertise is in sustainability law and governance, with particular focus on the role of private actors. She holds a PhD in international law from the European University Institute (Italy), an LLM in Environmental Law from the University of Nottingham (UK) and a BA in International Relations from the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia). She has over 10 years of research and managerial experience within interdisciplinary research groups and intercultural environments, as well as within the non-governmental sector. She is currently an ambassador for ESOF (European Science Open Forum) 2020 Trieste.
