S4D4C takes the protection of your personal information very seriously and adheres strictly to the rules set down by data protection legislation. The following statement provides an overview of how we ensure this protection and explains which types of data we collect for which purposes, how we handle your data and your rights. As the host of this website (S4D4C.eu), the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI) – contact see below – is processing the personal data you are providing by registering on this site.

Your data is stored/ processed for the following purposes:

- tracking the individual progress on the online-course(s) on this site
- issuing certificates
- saving of quiz-results
- for internal statistical analysis of the participants in an aggregated form. This also includes the processing of the answers given during the satisfaction survey at the end of the course.
- The survey results will also me used for external communication purpose, always in an anonymous and aggregated form. None of your personal information will be shared externally.

You have the right to oppose the further processing of your data after registering to the course. To do so, please visit our data protection portal.
- For the purposes stated above, your data may also be transferred to the following project partners of the S4D4C project (= recipients of your data):
- The Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology – FECYT (including brief contact data)
- German Aerospace Centre, Project Management Agency – DLR (including brief contact data)
- It is not planned to transfer your data to anybody else than stated above. In case there is any need emerging to transfer your data, you will be informed beforehand.
- Your personal data will be stored for the duration of 12 months starting with the date of your registration to the online training course on Science Diplomacy. After this time period your data will be automatically deleted.
- You have the right to request from ZSI the access to and rectification or erasure of your personal data. You can also completely object to processing your personal data by ZSI or any of the other partners mentioned above under recipients of your data.
- Furthermore, you have the right to obtain your personal data in a common format (“data portability”).

- No automated decision making (including profiling) is performed.
